Whether you are importing an estimate from LMN or creating a new job in LMN Time, keep your tasks simple. Get your crews used to simple time tracking first and introduce more detail later.
For example, too many tasks for the same type of work is going to make it confusing and too time consuming for your crew's to be clocking in and out of every time they are working on something different. We suggest merging tasks are are similar to eliminate frustration.
How to merge tasks:
- Login to LMN Time.
- Click on JOBS (at the top of the screen).
- Click on the Job that you would like to merge tasks on.
4. Click on Tasks (on the left side menu).
5. Check off the checkboxes beside the task name to merge certain tasks.
6. Click merge tasks.
This will bring up a new pop-up window outlining the tasks you would like to merge. Create a new name for the tasks being merged and choose a new cost code. This is going to combine the estimated hours for each task. Click Save.
Now, when you are back in your Tasks screen it is going to only show the new task that you have created by merging the other tasks. Now your crew only needs to clock into one task verses three.
