There are some cases where it makes sense to treat your equipment like overhead, but it only really makes sense in a select few situations.

For most landscape contractors you'll have some equipment in overhead (owner's truck, sales vehicles, vehicles/equipment around the yard), but most of your equipment should be treated as a Cost of Goods Sold, or Variable expense.
